Mubasher: Agility Abu Dhabi, a subsidiary of Agility Public Warehousing, has invested in double-trailer trucks to become the first logistics company in Abu Dhabi to operate such trucks.
This step will enable the company to reduce the transportation costs for its customers and cut carbon emissions by lowering the number of trips, according to a press release on Wednesday.
A total of 50 of the extensive fleet of trailers operated by the company in Abu Dhabi has become double-trailer trucks.
During the first six months of operation, Agility’s fleet management data showed that double trailers have cut fuel use by 26% per container, decreasing around 2,500 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
The CEO of Agility Abu Dhabi, Houssam Mahmoud, commented: "In addition to being environmentally friendly, the double trailers will positively impact productivity – and that’s good for both Agility and our customers."
