Airbnb eyes launching Arabic-language portal for MENA users

Dubai – Mubasher: Home-sharing site Airbnb Inc plans to launch an Arabic-language portal for its users in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the Arabian Business reported on Thursday, citing informed sources.

The US-based online hospitality platform has started its operations in Dubai since 2015.

In 2017, as many as 90,000 travelers made a stop at the Gulf country via Airnbnb, which provides a versatile platform for 5,500 hosts and 6,700 properties in the UAE.

“Airbnb hasn’t been translated into Arabic so a lot of customers prefer Booking.com over Airbnb. This year, the website is supposed to be translated to allow more people to start using it,” a source close to the business said as quoted by Arabian Business.

In July, the emirate of Dubai has been named the fifth most expensive city in the world, according to Airbnb listings in the global index.
