Airport Show is 'key B2B platform' for Saudi exhibitors

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s leading aviation industry players will take part in the 19th edition of Airport Show which will be held from 29 April to 1 May at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Saudi aviation firms will be exhibiting over an area of 600 square metres at the world’s largest annual airport industry B2B event, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Dammam Airports Company, operator and manager of King Fahd Airport and its facilities, will have the largest stand among the exhibiting companies, followed by the kingdom’s aviation regulator General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The participating companies also include Alnahdi Aviation Technologies Company, Ground Handling Logistics, Riyadh Airports Company, and the Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS).

Saudi Arabia, the Middle East’s second largest aviation market after the UAE, is looking to privatise 23 local and four international airports through which nearly 100 million passengers have travelled in 771,000 flights during 2018.

The Saudi GACA works on developing two international terminals at King Khalid International with an investment of $589 million.

In 2018, King Khalid International was the second busiest airport in passenger traffic with 27.9 million passengers.

Saudi Arabia also aims to develop new airports by 2020 in Al Qunfudah, Farasan Island and Taif, Riyadh North, and Riyadh South.
