UAE - Mubasher: Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has seen 1,717 new registered companies during 2020, up 23% compared to 2019.
Offshore companies have represented 11% of the total number of new companies, showing Ajman's economic competitiveness and the confidence of the international business and investment community, according to a recent press release.
The education sector topped the other sectors in terms of investments in 2020, with a 26% growth compared to 2019, while the technology sector recorded a 20% increase in investment and economic activities.
Meanwhile, Ajman Free Zone has contributed 29% to Ajman's total exports and 35% in the volume of re-exports.
The Chairman of Ajman Free Zone, Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, said: "We expect that Ajman will continue to attract more investments in the areas of education, technology, industries, trade and commerce. They are all important contributors to the country’s efforts to accelerate economic diversification, which is key to a resilient, competitive, and sustainable economy."
