Riyadh-Mubasher: Al Abdullatif Industrial Investment said it obtained the approval of petroleum ministry on allocating the necessary fuel for the sugar plant of its subsidiary Al Reef Sugar Refinery in Jizan.
The plant, which has SAR 1.2 billion in capital, will operate with a production capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum (tpa).
Al Reef will accordingly start the construction work at the sugary refinery.
Al Abdullatif owns 15% (SAR 45 million) of Al Reef.
Al Reef’s Chairman Abdul Khaleeq Saeed said his company secured a loan from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund and completed all necessary licenses.
The refinery’s commercial production will start in 2017, and the project will offer 500 job opportunities, he said.
