Al Ahleia Insurance posts lower profits in Q2

Kuwait – Mubasher: Al Ahleia Insurance posted a decline of 6.8% in profits of the second quarter of 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015.

Earnings reached KWD 2.35 million ($7.77 million) in Q2-16 versus KWD 2.52 million ($8.34 million) in Q2-15, according to a bourse statement issued Sunday.

During the first half this year, profits decreased by 3.5% to KWD 5.72 million as compared to KWD 5.93 million in H1-15.

The decline in profits was due to a growth in finance expenses as well as reassessment for available-for-sale assets.
