Kuwait – Mubasher: Al-Arfaj Group is planning to build a 600,000 barrels per day (bpd) oil refinery and a 10 million tonnes a year liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in India’s Andhra Pradesh, the state’s chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu told Reuters.
The Kuwaiti company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Economic Development Board of Andhra Pradesh for the project, Naidu added.
This deal will also include the establishment of a petrochemical complex, the chief minister noted.
India aims at boosting its refining capacity by 50% to seven million bpd of crude oil over the coming seven years.
Al-Arfaj Group was established in 1980 and has a track record of more than 25 years with diversified business interests.
