Al Khaleej Takaful’s Q1 profits fall 42%

Doha-Mubasher: Al Khaleej Takaful Group posted a year-on-year decline of 42.4% in profits for the first quarter in 2016, according to a statement.

The Qatari firm reported earnings worth QAR 14.1 million ($3.87 million) in Q1-16 as compared to QAR 24.5 million ($6.7 million) in Q1-15.

Earnings per share reached QAR 0.55 by the end of Q1, lower from the same period in 2015 when it stood at QAR 0.96.

Al Khaleej Takaful’s stock edged up 0.19% to QAR 27.08 by the end of Wednesday’s session.
