Al Maktoum approves Dubai 2017 government budget

Dubai – Mubasher: Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the governmental budget of Dubai for 2017, with total expenditure of AED 47.3 billion.

Dubai Media Office tweeted that 2017 budget will see spending on infrastructure in 2017 up by 27% and aims at creating 3,500 new jobs, targeting operating surplus of AED 2.9 billion.

The government noted that governmental fees represent 76% of revenues, while tax and custom revenues represent 16% and oil revenues for 6%.

Government sending increased by 3% in 2017 budget, which reflects the government keen on supporting the local economy.

Deficit reached AED 2.5 billion, which represents 0.6% of gross domestic product (GDP).
