Dubai – Mubasher: Al Mal Capital, a Dubai Investments’ unit, announced that Al Mal MENA Equity Fund had reported significant returns in 2017.
Al Mal MENA Equity Fund’s returns after fees surged 19% last year.
The fund's generous returns were achieved despite the negative performance of Middle Eastern equities, as the S&P Pan Arab Index tumbled 1% at the end of 2017, amid volatile oil prices and unstable geopolitical situation, Al Mal Capital said in a statement.
“The strong returns generated in a flat market demonstrates that an unconstrained, bottom-up strategy focusing on alpha opportunities instead of the direction of the reference benchmark can create value for its clients,” Naser Al Nabulsi, Al Mal Capital’s CEO, commented.
