Dubai - Mubasher: A new statistic Mubasher on the activity of brokerage firms working the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) showed an increase by 397 new accounts to a total of 1,005 in October.
This signals a 65.3% growth compared with 608 in September, according to the data of the DFM.
Data showed that Al Safwa Mubasher Financial Services led the list of brokerage companies, dominating 115 of the new accounts in October, compared with 36 in the previous month, rising by 219.4%.
Brokerage House Securities came in second place with 109 accounts, followed by ADIB Securities with 97 accounts, and Mena Corp Financial Services with around 80 new accounts.
The total number of transactions rose by 128.4% to around 198,620 from 86,948, with trading volumes also surging 177.42% from 5.22 billion shares 14.57 billion shares.
Traded values also increased by 156.6 to AED 19.9 billion compared with AED 7.75 billion in the prior month.
Mena Corp accounted for the highest turnover in the market with AED 1.7 billion, equivalent to 8.6% of the total values, followed by Al Safwa Mubasher with AED 1.61 billion (8.12%).
