Riyadh - Mubasher: The CEO of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Ziyad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha, said on Wednesday that the company development plans are progressing as planned in accordance to the National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Shiha also told The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the development process is based on three strategic goals which are the smart network solutions program, the smart meters program, and raising the grids efficiency and the network effectiveness.
During the opening session of the Saudi Arabia Smart Grid Conference 2016, Al-Shiha pointed to the high growth in electric energy demand in KSA in the last 5 years, adding that it is expected to go up by 15% in the next five years.
Al-Shiha assured that Saudi Electricity Company is ready to meet the growing demand, with more than 11 million subscribers expected by 2021, thanks to the company advanced infrastructure and the huge projects that are currently under construction.
