Al Tayyar denies Indonesian hajj, tourism deals

Riyadh – Mubasher: Al Tayyar Group on Thursday denied news that it signed agreements with Indonesian hajj, umra and tourism unions worth SAR 5 billion ($1.333 billion), according to a filing to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul).

The company’s delegation, which accompanied the Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in his visit to Indonesia today, has met with several representatives from hajj, umra and tourism unions to prepare memoranda of understanding to facilitate the visits by Indonesian pilgrims who wish to perform hajj or umra in Saudi Arabia, Al Tayyar highlighted.

On Thursday, Tadawul suspended Al Tayyar’s shares starting 14:20 Saudi time till the end of the session following the news that was circulated by local news media.

The suspension of the company’s stocks is based on the company’s request and was pending a material announcement, the bourse stated.

Al Tayyar's stock jumped 9.83%, topping gainers and reaching SAR 35.20 just before its suspension. A total of 5.26 million shares changed hands at a turnover of SAR 180.54 million executed over 3,500 transactions.

Moreover, a private transaction was executed on 2.2 million of Al Tayyar's shares on Thursday at a total value of SAR 71.14 million or SAR 32.10 per share.
