Alabbar to raise investments in Egypt

Cairo - Mubasher: The CEO of Emaar Properties, Mohamed Alabbar, aims at increasing his investments in Egypt, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation issued Monday.

However, the Emirati business tycoon did not reveal the volume of his targeted new investments in Egypt.

Alabbar discussed the challenges facing his investments during a meeting with the minister of investment and international cooperation, Sahar Nasr, who pledged to remove any obstacles facing investors in Egypt.

Nasr noted that work is currently in progress to lay out an investment map that includes investment opportunities across all governorates, including ports, airports, and industrial and investment free zones, to present it to Arab and foreign investors in accordance with Egypt’s vision to achieve sustainable development goals.

The CEO of Emaar also expressed his optimism for the current year, expecting it to be better than 2016, with Emaar having ongoing projects with a total value of $11.4 billion.
