Mubasher: Aluminum Bahrain’s (Alba) metal sales rose during the second quarter of the fiscal year 2016 by 3.2% to 239,739 metric tonnes (mt), versus 232,193 mt in Q2-15, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
Total production reached came to 239,126 mt in Q1-16, compared to 238,904 mt in Q2-15.
The company’s value-added sales averaged 55% of total shipments in Q2-16, versus 66% for the same period in 2015.
“Despite tough underlying market conditions, we have started to see improvement in our value-added sales portfolio which we expect to continue into the second half of the year,”, Alba’s Executive Officer, Tim Murray said.
Alba is set to announce its financial statements for the second quarter of fiscal 2016 on 25 July.
The company earlier posted a net profit of fall of 88.6% year-on-year in Q1-16 profits.
