Mubasher: Aluminium Bahrain Company (Alba) said Monday that it has managed to raise its overall sales and production volume for the second quarter of 2016, despite lower aluminium prices.
Sales volume exceeded 246,293 metric tonnes mt in Q3-16, up 7,431 mt from 238,862 mt in Q3-15, while production volume for the same period grew by 2.4% year-on-year to 246,146 mt, according to a statement.
In the January-September period this year, Alba’s sales volume rose to 717,569 mt from 699,362 (mt) in the same period of 2015, while production volume grew by 3,722 mt to reach 720,750 mt year-to-date.
Value-added sales averaged 58% of total shipments in Q3-16 and stood at 55% for the nine months of 2016.
The company noted that its financial statements for Q3-16 will be announced on 14 November.
