Aldar, Etisalat push ADX 0.29% higher at close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday’s session rising by 0.29% or 12.68 points to the level of 4,409.05 points.

Trading volume declined to 54.72 million shares from 115.47 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also decreased to AED 133.32 million from AED 192.46 million.

Raed Diab, Vice President of Investment Research Department in KAMCO, suggested that the recovery in oil prices and selective purchases are behind today’s rise.

The consumer staples sector was the best performer after leaping by 2.63% as Agthia grew 4%, the energy sector advanced 2.11% with an increase of 3.7% in Dana Gas.

The real estate sector grew 1.47% as Aldar rose 1.95%, and the telecom sector levelled up 0.5% as Etisalat grew by the same percentage.

“The index still needs to break over 4,520 points to boost its chances to rise in the upcoming sessions,” Diab told Mubasher.
