Aldar, FGB lead ADX to close in red

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened higher on Monday, spurred by positive performance of the real estate and banks sectors.

The general index went up 0.42% to reach 4,120.48 points by 11:00am UAE time.

The market saw trading of 38.52 million shares through 334 transactions, generating AED 34.57 million.

The real estate sector increased 2.34%, backed by Aldar Properties which added 2.9% after trading 5.6 million shares through 125 transactions, generating AED 13.6 million.

The energy sector grew 0.81% after Dana Gas levelled up 2.17%.

Also, the telecom sector rose 0.62% as Etisalat recovered 0.62%.

Lastly, the banks sector advanced 0.44% due to a 0.87%increase in First Gulf Bank.
