Cairo – Mubasher: The unaudited financial indicators of Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Co showed an 89.8% year-on-year hike in profits of the first quarter of fiscal year 2017/2018 due to higher sales.
The company achieved profits of EGP 564 million in the three-month period ended September, versus EGP 297 million in the prior-year period, Alexandria Container said in a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Sunday.
Sales surged 69% to EGP 702.2 million in Q1 of FY17/18 from EGP 414.5 million in Q1 of FY16/17.
Alexandria Container’s profits amounted to EGP 2.18 billion in FY16/17 from profits of EGP 1.36 billion in FY15/16.
By 11:20 am Cairo time, Alexandria Container’s stock fell 1.71% to EGP 180.46.
