Cairo – Mubasher: Alexandria Customs collected EGP 2.519 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during May, minister of finance Mohamed Maait said.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Alexandria port reached EGP 395.102 million during the fifth month of 2020, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.
Moreover, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods amounted to EGP 2.114 billion during the month, the statement showed.
The imported goods included wheat, meat, corn, chemicals, sugar, cars, and spare parts.
