Cairo – Mubasher: Alexandria Co. for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries is looking to inject more that EGP 200 million worth of direct investments into the pharmaceutical and medical supplies market in 2020 and 2021 in Egypt and enter new export markets.
These investments are the largest in the pharmaceutical industry this year amid the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the company’s chairman, Alaa Draz, said in a statement on Sunday.
The company has established the first production line for face masks for adults and children with a capacity of above 4 million masks per month, he added.
The masks, 100% made from non-woven polypropylene masks, are manufactured without human intervention.
It is worth mentioning that during the first 11 months of fiscal year 2019/2020, the pharmaceutical company achieved net profits of EGP 150.56 million, up from EGP 112.6 million in the year-ago period.
