Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has completed the expansion and replacement works of the electricity network in Alexandria's eastern district with investments of EGP 45 million during fiscal year 2019/2020.
The works included the installation of 3.4 kilometres (km) of medium-voltage cables, 8.5 km of low-voltage cables, 19 km of low-voltage overhead power lines, and 14 substations, the Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker, said in a statement on Wednesday.
In addition, the upgrade involved the replacement of 11.8 km of medium-voltage cables, 5.9 km of low-voltage cables, 10.4 km of low-voltage overhead power lines, and 37 substations, he added.
