Riyadh - Mubasher: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia need supportive legislation, proper planning and open dialogue, since they represent the corner stone of any developing and growing economy, the chairman of International Trailer Company Ayman Aljabarti told Mubasher.

Aljabarti also called upon supporting Saudi entrepreneurs and their innovative ideas, giving an example of a new stronger lighter steel that they created after research and development, and worked hard to use in a product used all across the KSA, which is construction waste containers.

This new product cuts the amount of steel used in manufacturing containers thus reducing the harmful emissions, which is another environmental advantage.

Aljabarti said that when they applied to the chamber of commerce to support this product and present it to specialized institutions, and that there not supported by the chamber, which will force them to go directly to the recycling and waste management department in Jeddah.

He also stressed the importance of having judicial institutions that give fast and just decisions, without suppressing smaller capitals or killing the hopes of small and medium projects.

“We have a great infrastructure of internet service, roads, water and sewage utilities, but unfortunately there is no planning coping with these advantages, which is something that needs to be addresses, and it is important to understand the demands of industrial investors and businessmen.

Aljabarti also said that the current finance policy doesn’t support the SMEs, which make small projects unable to expand and take huge risks, and if these small and medium projects don’t get the needed finance, this will definitely affect the economy, he stressed.
