Almarai’s EGM approves cash dividends, capital hike

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's Almarai Company announced Monday that extraordinary general meeting (EGM) approved yesterday cash dividends at 11.5% of the capital or SAR 1.15 ($0.31) per share for the fiscal year 2015, totalling SAR 690 million ($183.97 million).

The dividend eligibility will be for shareholders registered by the end of trading on the date of EGM.

The company earlier paid cash dividends at SAR 1($0.27) for the fiscal year 2014, totalling SAR 600 million ($159.98 million).

Almarai’s net income for FY15 reached SAR 1.9 billion ($506.59 million), up 14.4% year-on-year from SAR 1.6 billion ($426.6 million).

The dairy producer’s shareholders also agreed to increase the company’s capital by 33.3% to SAR 8 billion ($2.13 billion) from SAR 6 billion ($1.60 billion) through a bonus share distribution at 1-for-3.
