Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s dairy producer Almarai has imported SAR 1.18 billion ($315 million) worth of materials, mostly fodder, from the U.S. during 2015, said Thomas Trimble, head of strategic business.
The statement came during a speech during the Saudi-U.S. Business Opportunities Forum currently held in Riyadh.
The official added that his company made land investments exceeding SAR 513.75 million ($137 million) in the U.S. during the last two years.
In 2014, Almarai announced suspending the cultivation of fodder in Saudi Arabia and beginning to import it fully from abroad, with the aim of maintain the kingdom’s natural resources especially water.
