Dubai-Mubasher: The Expolink consortium led by France’s Alstom was awarded a 10.6 billion dirham ($2.89 billion) contract for the Route 2020 metro expansion project, according to WAM news agency.
The project will be operational five months before the start of Expo 2020 in October.
Around 11.8 kilometers (km) of the 15-km route will be elevated and 3.2 km will be underground.
