Riyadh-Mubasher: The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) has informed Amana Cooperative Insurance on Thursday that its health insurance activity is suspended.
The company has contacted the CCHI to hold a meeting to discuss the reasons for suspension on hope the suspension can be lifted.
Amana noted that it expects to suffer a negative impact on the company’s sales during the suspension period.
Recent reports said that CCHI had warned insurance companies against delaying approvals on hospitals’ requests for medical treatment, while others confirmed that a large private hospital has been referred to investigative measures on suspicion of falsifying financial claims.
Meanwhile, six health insurance companies have been suspended from issuing health insurance for violating the health insurance system, according to the Saudi Gazette.
Notable that CCHI owns 18.37% stake in Amana Cooperative Insurance.
