UAE - Mubasher: The US-based e-commerce company Amazon.com, Inc announced it will hold Prime Day in the UAE for the first time in July.
Prime Day starts at midnight on Monday, 15 July and will run for 48 hours, which is Amazon’s longest, according to a press release.
Accordingly, UAE Prime members will enjoy the best shopping, savings, and entertainment offers for two full days, Amazon revealed.
Additionally, Prime members in the GCC state will join members in the US, the UK, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, and Australia in celebrating epic deals and limited-time offers.
Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer, said: “Get ready, as we pull back the curtain to reveal exclusive products, special performances and two full days of phenomenal deals this Prime Day.”
“Our vision is that Prime Day should be the absolute best time to be a member - when you can enjoy shopping, savings, entertainment and some of the best deals Prime members have ever seen. Stay tuned as we reveal exclusive savings, as well as world-class entertainment and more, leading up to Prime Day on July 15 and 16,” he added.
Amazon had launched its Prime service in the UAE on 11 June 2019, offering its members premium delivery options, TV on demand, and access to free next-day delivery on various products.
Nearly 90% of Prime members in the UAE will enjoy a 50% discount on Same Day Delivery on various products in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, and Al-Ain.
Amazon Prime costs AED 16 per month or AED 140 per year, and it will be available for UAE members for only AED 12 per month until 31 October and members can also benefit from a 30-day free trial period with no obligation to buy.
In 2017, Amazon acquired Souq, the largest e-commerce platform in the Arab world and now known as Amazon.ae, for $580 million.
