Mubasher: The imports of the Amman Chamber of Industry decreased by 1% in the first 9 months of 2016 to JOD 3.03 billion compared to JOD 3.07 billion in the same period last year, according to Jordan News Agency (Petra).
The imports of 5 out of 10 industrial sectors went down during that period, led by rubber and plastic with 30% to JOD 47 million, while wooden and furniture decreased by 26% to JOD 24 million.
Chemicals and cosmetics dropped by 15% while paper, wrap and packaging declined by 8%.
On the other hand, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies increased by 26%, added the report.
