Amman Index shrinks 0.14% at close

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s benchmark index closed Sunday with a fall of 0.14% or 2.84 points to the level of 2,085.5 points.  

Trading value dropped to JOD 6.4 million versus JOD 6.7 million on Wednesday. Trading volume reached 5.7 million shares exchanged through 3,120 trades.    

The services and industrial sectors rose 0.11% and 0.08% respectively, while the financial sector declined 0.3%.

The index was negatively affected by the falling prices of 46 shares, out of 124, whereas 38 others closed higher.

Middle East Specialised Cables Company topped losers with a fall of 6.67%, followed by Resources Company for Development and Investment with 6.25%.

Meanwhile, Amad Investment and Real Estate Development headed gainers with a growth of 6.14%, followed by Jordan Dairy which moved higher 4.95%.

The main index closed Wednesday with a rise of 0.22% or 4.5 points to 2,088.34 points.
