Amman bourse extends 7-day winning run; 0.53% up

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) main index continued performing positively for the seventh consecutive session, as it closed Wednesday with a rise of 0.53% or 10.88 points to 2,047.02 points.

Trading value rose to JOD 9.6 million, versus JOD 8.8 million yesterday and trading volume reached 7.5 million shares exchanged in 3,850 trades.

Industrial sector led the risers after moving 0.66% higher, followed by the financial sector with a 0.51% increase, while the services sector came alone on the red list with a fall of 0.36%.

The index was supported by the increasing prices of 49 shares, out of 116, while 24 others closed lower.

Dar Al Dawa Development and Investment and Afaq for Energy were the best performers after advancing by 7.39% and 5.63%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Arab International Food Factories headed the losers with a 6.67% decrease, followed by Middle East Specialized Cables Jordan with a drop of 5.56%.

ASE’s main index closed yesterday at the level of 2,036.14 points after rising by 0.35% or 6.11 points.
