Amman stocks back to green, up 0.43%

Mubasher: Amman Stock Exchange reversed yesterday’s downturn to close Tuesday’s session 0.43% or 9.2 points higher to 2,145.74 points.

Trading value jumped to JOD9.2 million against JOD7.4 million on Monday, while trading volume reached 10.3 million shares exchanged over 4,330 transactions.

Sectors demonstrated a mixed performance, as the financial and services rose by 0.65% and 0.02% respectively. Meanwhile, the industrial sector was the only loser by a fall of 0.06%.  

Out of 124 companies traded today, 52 saw a rise, while 34 others fell.

Middle East Specialized Cables  was the best performer, gaining 6.66% to JOD0.16, followed by Industrial Commercial and Agricultural with a rise of 5.55% to JOD1.9.

On the negative front, the laggards were headed by Resources Company for Development  that dropped 6.25% to JOD0.15. It was followed by Jordan Poultry Processing and Marketing that fell by 4.76% to JOD0.8.

Yesterday’s session saw the main index decline by 0.49% or 10.46 points to 2,136.54.
