Amman stocks shrink 0.88% at close

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s (ASE) main index dropped 0.88% or 18.82 points to the level of 2,117.5 points at close of Sunday’s trading.

Trading value hit JOD 7.7 million through 3,940 trades on 7.9 million shares.

The financial sector fell 1.14%, followed by services which inched down 0.59%, while the industrial sector rose 0.25%.

The index was affected by the falling prices of 39 shares, out of 123, while 53 others moved up.

Meanwhile, Resources Company for Development and Investment led the gainers with a 7.69% increase, followed by Contempro for Housing Projects as it added 6.67%.

Cairo Amman Bank was the weakest performer with a drop of 7.45%, followed by Industrial Commercial and Agricultural with 7.17%.

The main index closed Thursday at the level of 2,136.32 points after rising 0.7% or 14.74 points.
