Amman stocks slip in a week amid thin volume

Mubasher: Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) moved lower this week, as the main gauge lost 1% to end at 2,000.7 points, down from 2,021 last week.

Sectors were collectively in red, mainly the financial that fell by 1.3%, while industry drifted lower by 1.07% and services tailed the list with a decline of 0.45%.

The weekly traded value retreated to JOD 21.1 million, from JOD 46 million last week. The financial sector came on top with turnover reaching JOD 13.9 million (66.1%), followed by industry with JOD 3.7 million (17.5%) and services with JOD 3.5 million (16.4%).

Out of the 153 companies traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 35 to 98.

Arab Union International stock was the best performer with a jump of 16.67%, while Jordan Pipe Manufacturing was the worst performer with a drop of 19.26%.
