Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s main index closed Tuesday with a rise of 0.12% or 2.64 points, reaching the level of 2,117.58 points.
Turnover grew to JOD 11.3 million, versus JOD 7.5 million yesterday. Trading volume came to 14.5 million shares through 6,130 transactions.
The industrial and financial sectors rose by 0.69% and 0.13% respectively, while services declined 0.35%.
The index was supported by the increasing prices of 53 shares, out of 131, while 36 others were down.
The Holy Land Insurance was the best performer as it climbed 16.66% higher, followed by Resources Company for Development and Investment with a 5.88% increase.
Meanwhile, Al-amal Financial Investments and Comprehensive Multiple Project were the weakest after dropping by 6.80% and 4.73%, respectively.
The main index rose yesterday as it gained 0.12% or 2.52 points to the level 2,114.94 points.
