Cairo – Mubasher: Amreya Petroleum Refining Company (APRC) on Tuesday announced that its implemented investments during the fiscal year, ended June 2017, reached around EGP 506.6 million.
These investments were pumped into refining projects and used for producing some petroleum products, according to the company.
Amreya refined about 3.6 million tonnes in FY16/17, the company’s chairman, Mohammed Talaat, said.
The company produced 1 million tonnes of diesel fuel and around 540,000 tonnes of gasoline by the end of June, Talaat added.
Meanwhile, Amreya’s production of mazut and butagas reached around 1.2 million tonnes and 85,000 tonnes, respectively, while Kerosene production reached 188,000 tonnes, he noted.
Talaat also highlighted that the petroleum distillation unit’s development project has been finalised at a value of EGP 580 million.
Egypt seeks to satisfy its domestic market needs by reducing its reliance on imported gas and by increasing gas production by 50% by June 2018.
