Arab, foreign selloffs drive EGX lower by mid-trade

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s stock market slipped by Sunday’s mid-session, amid a selling tendency among Arab and foreign traders while nationals were mostly buyers.

At 12:45pm Cairo time, the main index fell by as much as 0.56% to 6,768.85 points.

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 11.44 million and EGP 2.99 million, respectively.

Arabia Investments was the top performer, with a surge of 6.82%, after the company said a subsidiary is considering the sale of unutilised land plots and that Kahromika board of directors approved a proposal to list on Cairo bourse.

Meanwhile, Delta Insurance was the biggest loser with a fall of 8.17%.

CIB, the market’s heaviest weight, drifted 1.01% lower, while El Sewedy Electric rose by 0.08% and car maker GB Auto gained 1.99%.
