Arab, local buying boosts EGX Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of Arab and Egyptian buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 253.54 points, or 1.77%, finishing the session at 14,612.18 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index leveled up 0.76% to 695.76 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose 1.15% to 1,781.8 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index leapt 1.53% to 2,280 points.

Trading volume amounted to 183.35 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 777.32 million through 23,600 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 57.38 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 11.9 million and EGP 45.4 million, respectively.

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.87% to EGP 82.66, with a turnover of EGP 41.9 million.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 9.3 billion and closed the session at EGP 801.3 billion.

HADISOLB topped rising blue-chip stocks with 7.38%, whereas Egyptian Resorts led losers with 2.72%.
