Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose early Sunday on the back of purchases by Arab investors.
By 10:25 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 137 points, or 0.94%, to 14,769 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.13% to 699.7 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index levelled up 0.27% to 1,789.7 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.01% to 2,294.4 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 11.2 million shares exchanged at EGP 44 million through 1,800 transactions.
Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 6.1 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 317,000 and EGP 5.7 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.05% to EGP 83.27 with a turnover of EGP 53,300.
