Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday's trading session with a massive increase, helped by Arab buying.
By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 95.36 points, 0.36%, to 14,410.59 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.04% to 690.79 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index added 0.16% to 1,764 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.51% to 2,257 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 11.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 38.36 million through 1,140 transactions.
Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 7.9 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 282,200 and EGP 7.6 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.12% to EGP 82.05, with a turnover of EGP 643,900.
