Arab buying pushes up EGX early Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session in green territory on the back of Arab buying.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index added 65.06 points, or 0.39%, to 16,727.61 points.

The heavyweight Central Bank of Egypt (CIB) jumped 1.23% to EGP 85.49.

The EGX70 index levelled up 0.4% to 863.3 points, while the EGX100 index edged up 0.11% to 2,191 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.18% to 2,914 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 15.6 million shares exchanged a turnover of EGP 88.9 million through 3,070 transactions.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 1.6 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 1.5 million and EGP 55,800, respectively.
