Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose slightly early Sunday on the back of purchases by Arab investors.
By 10:28 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 6.92%, or 0.05%, to 12,991.13 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.02% to 673.06 points, whereas the EGX100 index went up 0.03% to 1,684.6 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.22% to 2,137 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 16.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 47.8 million through 1,500 transactions.
Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 730,300, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 312,070 and EGP 418,200, respectively.
Moreover, the heavyweight commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.3% to EGP 73.5.
