Arab sell-offs weigh on EGX early Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen a bearish trend early Thursday, dragged down by Arab sell-offs.

By 10:15 Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index shed 23.66 points, or 0.16%, to 15,189 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.01% to 719.6 points, while the broader EGX 100 index dipped 0.01% to 1,818 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index slipped 0.09% to 2,477 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to around 5.5 million shares exchange at a turnover of EGP 30.8 million through 1,200 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 207,800, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 131,220 and EGP 76,600, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) slid 0.17% to EGP 74.5.
