Mubasher: Arab countries have imported products from Brazil at a total of $1.22 billion during February, according to recent data by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
The goods imported to Arab states from Brazil in February registered an increase of 7% when compared to $1.14 billion posted in the same month a year earlier.
Brazilian imports to Arab countries in February this year included mineral fuels, mineral oils, bituminous substances, and mineral waxes; fertilisers; plastics and articles; salt, Sulphur, earth and stone, plastering materials, lime, and cement; fish and crustaceans, mollusks and other aquatic invertebrates; aluminum and its related articles and organic chemicals, according to the statement by the ABCC.
Algeria has topped the Arab countries with Brazilian imports worth $425 million, followed by Saudi Arabia with $372.8 million, the UAE with $102.47 million, and Egypt with $61.2 million.
President of ABCC Concluded Rubens Hannun commented: “These latest figures posted for [February] demonstrate the strength of the increased trade ties between Brazil and Arab countries. It is also a fitting testament to the countries continuing commitment towards working closely with countries in the Arab world to help drive in more mutual trade growth across all market segments.”
