Arabsat yields $147m revenues in 2015

Mubasher: Arab Satellite Communications Organization, Arabsat, said it has achieved $147 million revenues by the end of 2015, for leasing Arabsat and Hellas Sat.

Arabsat, which serves government and private media organisations in three continents, posted an income worth $139 million, while Hellas Sat alone had an income worth $8 million, said Hamid Al-Qattan,  Arabsat deputy chairman and Kuwait’s undersecretary of transportation ministry.

The market value of Arabsat is estimated at $1.63 billion, Al-Qattan told Kuwait News Agency after a board meeting in Amman, Jordan.

The network is working on expanding its position during the period from 2017 until 2022.

The undersecretary added that launching Hellas Sat 3 is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2017, while Hellas Sat 4 is planned for introduction in Q1-18.
