Arabtec throws ball to Egypt gov’t on mega housing project

By: Ramy Sameeh

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Arabtec Holding is still waiting for the Egyptian government’s feedback on the biggest UAE-listed developer’s scheme to build one million housing units in Egypt, the company’s Chairman Mohamed Thani Al Rumaithi said.

“We were previously talking about the one million housing units, but things have changed,” he added on the sidelines of a press conference.

Last November, Arabtec submitted a new offer to build 13,000 units in the first phase.

The company will not take this project forward, if not coupled with good returns, Al Rumaithi noted.
