Aramco awards Marjan oilfield contract to Amec Foster

Riyadh – Mubasher: The British Amec Foster Wheeler said that it had won a contract from Saudi Aramco, as part of the integrated oil and gas expansion of the Marjan offshore and onshore oilfield in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia.

Under the five-year deal, the British firm will offer the pre-front end engineering design (FEED), FEED, overall programme management, and other support services for an additional 300,000 barrels per day gas/oil separation train, according to a statement by the company.

The company also noted that it will provide services for a new world scale greenfield gas processing plant and a cogeneration facility, and modifications to an existing facility to add natural gas liquids fractionation capacity.

“We have played a key role in many of Saudi Aramco’s major upstream and downstream investments,” Nick Shorten, Amec Foster Wheeler's president, said.

Amec Foster operates across the oil and gas industry, from production through to refining, processing, and distribution of derivative products, and in the mining, power and process, pharma, environment, and infrastructure markets.

The company employs around 35,000 people in more than 55 countries and had reported revenues of £5.4 billion for 2016.
