Aramco awards pipelines project to Saudi KAD

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Oil Company, known as Saudi Aramco, said it has awarded a contract worth around SAR 5 billion ($1.33 billion) to the local contractor Saudi KAD.

Under the agreement, KAD will build pipelines as part of Aramco’s Master Gas Program and Fadhili Gas Program, according to Wall Street Journal.

Saudi KAD will also be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction, or EPC, of 1,118 kilometers of pipeline for the two projects.

None of the two companies disclosed e the total value of the award, but oil industry executives in the kingdom said that the figure is over $1.3 billion, adding that it should be the largest EPC contract ever given to a local contractor.
