Aramco closes deal with US Jacobs Engineering to manage Zuluf field

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Aramco has awarded US Jacobs Engineering Group the management of the Zuluf oil and gas megaproject.

The contract entailed the supply of engineering and project management services including onshore central processing works, along with the help with an oil and gas separation plant and gas compression facilitates, the state-owned crude producer said in a statement.

"This landmark contract reaffirms our strong relationship with Saudi Aramco and our long-standing position in the Middle East," petroleum and chemicals president at Jacobs Vinayak Pai said.

The Zuluf field is an oil and gas major development planned to treat 600,000 barrels of crude oil per day (bpd) from the Zuluf offshore field in the Arabian Gulf. 

"The Zuluf field is one of the most significant developments of its kind and, through this project, we will support Saudi Vision 2030 by helping expand gas production and enhancing energy sustainability,” Pai commented.

The Middle Eastern oil giant gave no further details on the value of the deal.

The development of the Zuluf field started in January 2018 in collaboration with parties from Calgary, and Canada. 

The agreement inked with Jacobs is a part of a $4.5 billion agreements with companies from Europe, China, the UAE, and the US to develop a group of oil and gas projects in the oil-rich nation.
