Aramco completes 80% of Jizan complex development - CEO

Riyadh- Mubasher: Oil giant Saudi Aramco completed 80% of construction and development of Jizan’s industrial complex, said company President and Chief Executive Amin H. Nasser.

There are about 76,000 laborers working in upgrading the project, he added during a meeting with Emir of Jizan Prince Muhammad Bin Nasser.

Nasser said that the project, comprising a refinery, power generation complex, industrial city and a port, will be a mainstay of development in Jizan province.

The project would be one of the world's mega industrial complexes established over the last two decades on the back of the project’s volume, cutting-edge technology, production capacity and its integration to raise the added value of oil, he said.

The new refinery is to refine more than 400,000 barrel of Arab Medium and Heavy crude a day in a bid to cover the refined oil needs of local industries and the region.
